Form Of; Golden stick. [nonshareable]

dear rose,

happy birthday!!!

thanks for being such a great friend all these years. i know you like to make it out like you're playing it cool and don't care much about the people in your life, but i know deep down you really do. hell, not even that deep down. it's like, um, like your subconscious is having a wet t-shirt contest, and you being all aloof is this totally soggy shirt doing no good at all at hiding nothin'. oh wait, it looks like two can play at this game of cracking all these high falutin psychology books! AW SNAP!!!

but yeah, i got you this because i think you're really creative and you could make something nice with it if you put your mind to it. and it might help you take your mind off a lot of all this serious business you're always absorbed in. you know, all this weirdo pseudo-gothy stuff or whatever. frankly it's kind of depressing.

anyway you're the best rose! have a rad 13th! (i will catch up with you guys soon. god you're all so old.)

What she learned;
- STILL NO NAME because I'm mean '-' And that's a separate memory.
- Current friend roster: Dave, Kanaya, and now John. She's accumulating friends quite quickly. However unlike Kanaya, who she seems to meet in that mysterious neonworld, John's been her friend for years.
- It's snowing! Rose must have a winter birthday. And she's older than this John fellow.
- Presumably she's a very serious person -- that "pseudo-gothy" nonsense. She doesn't really understand this, because this has never come up in any other memories, and she doesn't see it in herself. However, it might explain her predilection for black clothing and black lipstick...
- She's thirteen! Or she was! She's going to assume that she's still thirteen for all intents and purposes.
- John is a dork.
- But he's a cute dork! He really seems to understand her, because as she's discovered in aather she is a caring person, and a creative one, and doesn't bother to hide it because the memories needed for that particular personality trait are still not with her. So John has to have had some insight into her personality through many conversations.
- Apparently Rose is into psychology. She should look into that right away (what's psychology?).

Effects;
- This essentially links Rose and Dave together, through one person who isn't actually in aather -- Dave's birthday letter with the Stiller shades, and Rose's birthday letter with the knitting kit. Which is good, because she was starting to doubt that they were from the same universe!
- She finally understands WHY she learned to knit in the first place -- because John gave it to her, and she valued him enough to want to take it up at his insistence.
- Rose is beginning to realize that even though the previous her was kind of...well, uh. Mean! She still had a lot of friends who really cared about her. She doesn't really understand how one person could be so aloof and have so many genuinely concerned friends at the same time. This previous-Daisy is confusing.
- Seeing all of these friends is making her realize that she's been doing a lot of neglecting of her own friends, particularly in Peridot...she might try doing something good for them soon, because they deserve it, and because she doesn't want to end up like her old self, always ignoring them.
